Children of Ramana’s Tartan Ties was set up by Pamela Neil following her visit in 2014 to Ramana’s Garden Children’s Home in Rishikesh, India. She went there with the intention of volunteering for one month and ended up staying for six months. At the end of the six months she returned to her actuarial career in Paris but quickly realised she had left part of her heart at Ramana’s. It was then that ‘Children of Ramana’s Tartan Ties’ was born in July 2015 with the help of fellow trustees, Clare Moffat and Fiona Simpson.
We will support Ramana’s Garden India by finding UK sponsors to pair with identified children and by raising awareness to attract further support through donations and volunteers. We believe education is key to lifting these children out of poverty and will raise funds to help this happen – supporting children from Primary education right through to University.
